information + permissions.

information + notes that said, i am extremely familiar with the portions of canon that did not originate in the era of streaming. from og tos to the so-so hit or miss mess that was enterprise to the aos movies. i've also read more ambiguously canon star trek novels and comics than any person ever should, and thus base her characterization on not only voyager itself, but some of the novels from the 90s and 2000s, as well — particularly mosaic, pathways, distant shores, homecoming, the farther shore, and places of exile. DEFAULT CANON POINT: 2374 | early season 4, before the "year of hell" two-parter permissions MENTAL INFORMATION: has participated in vulcan mind melds and various other telepathic shenanigans, but in spite of being strong-minded, possesses no mental blocks or shields of her own. anything in narration is up for grabs unless otherwise stated, but i'd prefer a heads up if that's the route your character is going to go! PHYSICAL AFFECTION: welcomed under certain circumstances while rebuffed under others; friendly > romantic. IC TRIGGERS: nothing in particular, but she loathes bullies & misogynistic nonsense. RELATIONSHIPS: automatically open to friendships, science buddies, and platonic relationships of all kinds. relationships of the romantic and/or physical, sexual kind may be harder to get off the ground. she's unfortunately likely to shut those down from the get-go, but may change her stance over time. she had a fiancé back on earth, but that relationship's been a lost cause since voyager was flung to the far other side of the galaxy. in an episode beyond her canon point, she gets a dear john letter and learns that said fiancé gave her up for dead and married someone else. SHIPPING: open to characters of all genders and sexes, though i'm not interested in writing janeway/seven, as i view them as mentor-mentee, mother-daughter -esque more than anything else. non-platonic relationships with subordinates in general are also difficult given her stance on such entanglements, but not entirely undoable. BACKTAGGING: absolutely! i live for backtagging. FOURTHWALL POLICY: no, thank you. absolutely good with star trek characters from points in time beyond her own knowing things about her so long as she's not being pointlessly informed about events that occur after her default canon point. ACTION VS PROSE: i ❤ prose, but have nothing against [ bracket tags ] and will happily roll with whatever your tagging preference may be. tl;dr tags also welcome! OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: keep it in character. if the offensive subject in question is irrelevant to our characters or the thread/meme/setting we're currently tagging in, please avoid bringing it up your tags. always ask if you're unsure. ooc |
